Great responses to dogboarding

January 25, 2011

I posted my latest video to reddit as I do once in a while, but this time it actually got quite a few hits. I’ve had over 300 views so far on my skate filming setup I’ve been linking to explaining how I made the gopro hd pole mount. I’m not sure if my entire site has even been viewed 300 times haha. I appear to be the number one result on a youtube search for dogboarding at this point as well, which is pretty cool.

I got a request for more pictures of Pretty, my female catahoula who pulls me like a champ whether I like it or not so here we go:

Here she is about when i first got her, before I decided I didn’t want to smell like dog when I woke up and started booting her off the bed.

Here she is more recently on the bed she destroyed 12 hours later.

Now she is back to sleeping behind my bed. Note the grey hairs around her mouth after all of 4 years, poor old girl…

I figured it was a fair request. In the dogboarding videos you mostly just see my beard and a dog butt.

Thanks for all the kind words folks.

New skate filming setup

Manfrotto super clamp from precision camera here in town, angle aluminum and nuts/bolts/rubber washers from lowes. I taped a paper towel at about where the balance is right for holding. The camera is a gopro hd.

Holding it works pretty well, first try:

Next try holding it:

Here is the angle i get with it clamped to the tail of my board:

Sucks on bumpy roads, but when it smooths out 40 seconds in it looks pretty good.

Sportypal skateboarding junk

So i finally got a phone that isn’t awful(htc touch pro 2), and got the free app from sportypal.com that logs your run/bike/whatever and lets you post it on the net. In my case the activity is dogboarding, and i had no idea how fast Pretty was pulling me…

Went out today, and it was reallly windy. I was essentially a big sail slowing her down. She also had to pee like 3 times for some reason, probably because we don’t normally go that route and she wanted everyone to know who’s skate turf it is :P

Dogboarding pics/vids megapost

December 24, 2009

Well here they are, all my past pictures and videos of dogboarding behind Pretty. Once in awhile I will add more, depending on how lazy I am and if I get good enough to warrant adding something new. The harness(x-back type) and bungee leash are from skijornow.com and I’ve been pretty happy with them. I found a few cheaper places after the fact, but what’s 10 bucks in the long run. When I originally called up to order they were very helpful with explaining how to properly measure my dog, and it fit well on arrival. I ordered some stuff for my roomie more recently from the discount section of nordkyn.com and was very happy with their service as well, and the prices were way cheaper thanks to being discounted.

Most of a run around the block, shot from my crappy old Palm Centro phone in 3 parts:

Me on my old moose drop deck in my old neighborhood:

Here she is getting freaked out by some classy greyhound statues near my aunt’s place in Portland, Texas. She growled and barked for awhile haha:

I guess i’ll round it out with a picture of her not pulling, so people won’t think all I do is keep her caged til I’m ready to be pulled around the neighborhood.
