Super Bowl experiment part 2

February 7, 2011

So last year I had fun taking a short vacation from social networking and news while I tried to see how long I could go without someone telling me who won the super bowl. I had to sleep through it because I work nights, and am mostly glad the NFL season is over so people stop saying I look like a skinny version of whoever that dude on the Steelers is that has a beard too. Same as last year I’ve got almost nobody I know personally following this blog, so it should be a pretty unbiased result since nobody will see it and try to sway the results either way I assume…

The outcome

February 10, 2010
That didn’t last long. For whatever reason the day after the bowl nobody at work spilled the beans, but the next day in a meeting the same people brought it up and the cat was out of the bag. At least now i can catch up on my shit, cause even Jon Stewart mentioned it. I knew that dude coulda blown it for me.

The score of people who i’ve heard about it from:
people at work on Teusday morning
daily show monday night (watched teusday)
marked all the austin news as read since monday night since it’s usually crap anyways, nothing from them about it 2 days after though
paulfeig was more interested in if his dogs covered the spread in the puppy bowl, but a good portion of the people i follow on twitter that were active that day mentioned the outcome.

Super bowl experiment

February 8, 2010

I’m going to see how long I can go without discovering the score/who won the super bowl.  I’m not going to catch up on my facebook/twitter until someone breaks the news face to face since surely one of them posted about it. Luckily nobody I know really reads this(zac might have it rss’ed), so they won’t cheat(or i’ll set off the remote detonator in that starter i put in for zac). To be fair only one person has come into work so far, but they all know I couldn’t give less of a shit about football so we’ll see how long it takes for them to tell me anyway I guess.
